Pele admits Ronaldo is now better than Messi

Pele has said that Cristiano Ronaldo is now the best footballer in the world, after years of Lionel Messi “dominance”.

He, however, insisted that the future belongs to Neymar.

Messi’s four-year Ballon d’Or winning streak, was ended by the Real Madrid superstar, who has won the last two awards.

“Now, after several years of Messi dominance, the best is Cristiano,” the Santos icon told L’Uomo Vogue.

“The future will smile on Neymar. He can be the key man at Barcelona and help Brazil to return to its rightful place in the rankings.”

Pele also said that he would not have had any problems shining in the modern game, stating that football was all about talent and dedication.

“I’d find myself at ease on the field today,” the Brazil legend said.

“It’s not high-tech footballs that make a footballer, but talent and dedication”, he added.
