PDP will bounce back to reclaim Adamawa – Ribadu assures

Standard bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded governorship election in Adamawa State, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has hinted on the resolve of party stakeholders in the state to restructure the party in order to wrestle back power in the 2019 elections.

Making this known at a PDP stakeholders’ meeting held at his Yola residence, Ribadu stressed that the state PDP caucus had decided to remain in the party to address the problems that led to the defeat suffered by the party in the state.

He assured that the PDP will bounce back in full force and take back its power from the incoming APC ruling party, claiming that the PDP will clinch victory in 2019, which informed their decision to remain in the party.

The former anti-corruption czar however urged his teeming supporters not to lose hope, adding that with tenacity of purpose, one day the party will return to power just as he prayed for the success of the newly elected government of the state.

“A journey of one million miles starts with one step, so let us continue the journey we started and not despair as nothing can be achieved without perseverance,” he said.

While appreciating his supporters, Ribadu said: “I am grateful to you from the bottom of my heart. We must accept our destiny in good faith and we must console each other because we had good intention to serve this state”.

He also pledged to contribute to the development of the country despite being in opposition political party.

The PDP flag bearer said what spurred him into joining the gubernatorial race was to use his vast experience to develop Adamawa State and ensure unity between the diverse cultural and ethnic groups in the state.”

“We had Adamawa people in mind when we set to contest the gubernatorial seat. Our aim was to entrench peace, development and progress. Now that we are in the opposition, we shall still strive to achieve that,” Ribadu noted.
