Bauchi State governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to remain loyal and not to give up, assuring them that the party would bounce back and take over power in 2019.
Speaking at a farewell party organised for him by members of the state office of the PDP on Monday night in Bauchi, Yuguda, who lost his bid to get into the Senate, noted that the success of the party would largely depend on understanding, love and tolerance among members.
His words, “PDP will surely succeed if we work as a team and remain united as a family.
“We will re-strategise and take back power. All you need to do as party members is to pray for a triumphant return in 2019.
“We will also work on our failures and mistakes so as to emerge stronger in the next election.”
Attributing his party’s fall and the rise of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to the will of Allah, who gives power to whom he so wishes, the outgoing governor said, “It was because God has already decided our fate that APC was able to take over power at the federal and the state levels from the PDP.
“PDP has governed this country for 16 years, so we should not feel down cast because Allah decided to give APC a chance to also rule,” he added.
Yuguda, who called on the people, irrespective of party affiliation, to pray for the success of the incoming administration in the state, enjoined the party members to accept the resignation of Alhaji Adamu Muazu as PDP National Chairman in good faith.
