Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson has promised members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state that his government, in collaboration with other stakeholders, will work hard to reorganize the party so as to regain political power at the national level in 2019.

Dickson stated this at the weekend, during his monthly interactive session with PDP members at the party’s secretariat in Yenagoa.

The governor, who noted that the party had been running the affairs of the country for 16 consecutive years, insisted that PDP remains the only party that was well coordinated and focused enough to deliver the dividends of democracy in the state.

While informing the gathering that the party swept the last general elections in the state, including 20 out of 22 seats in the state House of Assembly election, he appealed to members of PDP to be hopeful and trust in the party’s ability to win the two constituency seats in the state Assembly that were declared inconclusive.

He said the meeting was called so as to encourage them not to despair in the face of the defeat of the party in the March 28 national elections.
