Angry supporters of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Owerri, Imo State on Monday took to the street to protest the result of the gubernatorial election.

The supporters were seen displaying placards with various messages and demanding that Governor Rochas Okorocha be made to step down for Emeka Ihedioha.

The PDP supporters were joined by hoodlums who used the opportunity to harass Motorist and beat up some other road users.

Police officers on arrival at the scene of the protest teargassed the irate crowd to disperse them.

While reacting to the protest, the Director of Rochas Okorocha Campaign Organization, Barrister Iheukwumere Alaribe, said PDP supporters only expressed their dissatisfaction with the Imo State Independent National Electoral Commission for not announcing their candidate as the winner of the governorship election.
