Theodore Orji, the current Senator representing Abia central zone in the National Assembly has emerged the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party Senatorial primary election held in the state on Tuesday.
Announcing the results shortly after collation at the Umuahia Township Stadium, the Returning Officer, Prince Ananaba said Orji emerged with all the 489 available delegates’ votes cast.
Speaking after he was declared winner, Senator Orji thanked the delegates for finding him worthy to return for second term.
He said, “Today, I emerged, supported by all the delegates to run as candidate for Abia central senatorial district.
“I’m grateful for the confidence reposed in me by my constituents once again. I will continue to work hard to justify this confidence”.
