PDP Senate Caucus alleges selective anti-corruption war

Senators under the aegis of PDP Senate Caucus on Thursday alleged that the ongoing crusade against corruption by the APC-led government was selectively targeted at PDP stalwarts and States.

At a press conference, the group further submitted that the current war lacks transparency, fairness to all and appears to be aimed at political adversaries, hence, it stands to be condemned.

“The current war lacks transparency, fairness to all and appears to be aimed at politicians of PDP fold”, the statement said.

They condemned what they termed harassment and intimidation of INEC officials who superintended elections in Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Abia, noting that their sin was because PDP won in those states and since then, the officials and their families have been under DSS hound on one side, while other officials involved in election tribunals were intimidated and questioned, using trumped up petitions bordering on corruption.

“We condemn in particular what is happening in Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Abia States where election umpires are daily arrested, their families and associates hounded, and other judicial officials involved in the election,” the group noted.
