Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has described that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the only viable political party that will guarantee the sustenance of democratic dividends in Nigeria.

Speaking at the council headquarters of Enugu North Local Government Area of the State, during the campaign rally of the PDP, Governor Chime disclosed that in spite of the postponement of the general elections, the PDP would surely win the elections both at the State and national levels, having delivered on its promises, through his (Chime) four-point agenda and the transformational agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Governor, who frowned at the attitude of some members of the PDP in the state that joined other political parties to contest the forthcoming elections, when they could not realize their personal ambitions in the PDP, stated that “as far as Enugu State is concern such persons are wasting their time”.

Chime pointed out clearly that the PDP in the state is not in agreement with any political party, other than the agreement that they (opposition political parties) will vote for the PDP during the elections. He therefore, told the people to vote massively for the PDP during the elections.

“Everybody in politics of Enugu State today is one time or the other a member of the PDP. Because they could not realize their personal ambitions, they joined other parties and started going about deceiving people to vote for their new parties, that they are in agreement with the PDP. Anybody saying that is wasting his or her time. Anytime we have the elections, we will vote for the PDP, we will vote for President Jonathan, Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and our other candidates”, said Chime.

In his speech, the governorship candidate of the party, Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, also called on the people to vote for the candidates of the PDP, noting that the Party and its Presidential candidate, having invested hugely in the economy of the South-East through the construction of the Enugu international airport, Onitsha sea port and the second Niger bridge, among others, deserve their votes.

Other speakers at the rally include Senator Gilbert Nnaji who is the candidate of the Party for Enugu East Senatorial District, Hon. Chime Oji, the House of Representatives candidate of the party for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, and Barr. Phillip Nnamani, the House of Assembly candidate for Enugu North constituency, among others.
