The national leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has called on all members of the party to support the on going merger with some other opposition political parties for the purpose of sending the PDP out of power come 2015, saying that the ruling party is a drowning ship.
Tinubu made this call during the inauguration of a recreation centre at the Somolu Local Government. Tinubu’s statement came through Prof. Tunde Samuel, a former Special Adviser on Education and one of the party leaders in the state.
Tinubu believed that the new party would mark the end of PDP dominance in the nation’s political scene.
“PDP is already a drowning ship. This is a well organised party (APC) with different political parties and with different initiatives, coming together to throw PDP into the Atlantic Ocean,” he said.
While speaking earlier, Samuel told supporters of the party, that Tinubu could not make it because he was busy with what he called ”political engineering” and would want the teeming members of the party to devise various means to get more followership for the new party coalition.
