PDP has broken into pieces – APC mocks troubled ruling party

As the crisis currently rocking the Peoples Democratic Party gets deepened, the All Progressives Congress has continued to ridicule the crises-ridden party (PDP), affirming that its problem is beyond reconciliation, as the party is already broken into pieces.

Interim National Publicity Secretary, APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made this declaration in Lagos, on Friday at the 8th edition of the Town Hall meeting and graduation ceremony of Youth Empowerment and Skills Acquisition Scheme organised by the representative of the Lagos-Central senatorial district, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu.

He described two events that took place on July 31st and August 31st this year, as points of breakthrough in the history of the nation.

According to the party chieftain, on July 31st, 2013, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the birth of the APC, while exactly a month later (August 31st), seven governors and other political players within the PDP staged a walk-out from the party’s special convention in Abuja and announced the formation of a “New PDP”.

The August 31 show of shame, he said, marked the end of PDP’s regime in Nigeria, because that would be the first time in the history of the country that seven governors and other party stalwarts will walk out on a sitting President.

The governors that staged the walkout included Alhaji Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Mr. Rabiu Kwankwanso (Kano), Aliyu Babangida (Niger), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa) and Mr. Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers).

It would be recalled that efforts by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, former maximum ruler, General Ibrahim Babangida, former Vice-President, Chief Alex Ekwueme, PDP ex-National Chairmen, PDP Chairman Board of Trustee, Chief Anthony Anenih and other leaders of the party to resolve the crisis were fruitless.
