“So, I’m happy and proud to be a member of the PDP. I thank God for democracy; I thank God for the PDP.

“The other day, I read where where somebody in Abuja is saying that APC will get one million votes here; the other one said APC will take over by force in 2019.

“I want to let them know that there is no vacancy in Enugu State. It shall soon be clear to them.”

The Deputy Senate President, while speaking on the water scheme, said it was a demonstration of his commitment to partner keep partnering with the State to government to make life better for the people.

“We did not come into politics to win election but to make life better for the people. We are complementing the work being done by His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State and of course those at the local government.

“God has ordered our steps and of course ordered them correctly, and that is the what we are doing here today, which is the whole essence of governance.

“By the end of July, we shall come here to commission this project. We want to provide water to every community, to every home.

“When I got into politics, I discovered challenges of water, road and electricity. Our people were left behind in political equation both at the Federal, State and Local government levels. We are determined to change turn things around and I am certain that by the time are done, the stage would have changed,” he added.

Several other speakers at the event, including the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Hon. Festus Uzor, and the parish priest of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Iwollo Omasi, Rev. Fr. John Uke pledged their partnership towards making the project a success.
