The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, has decried the failure of President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint a Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chief of Staff almost two months after he assumed office, describing it as sacrilegious.
Chairman of the party, Mr. Clement Faboyede expressed this concern on Friday when he led PDP leaders in the state to pay a courtesy call on the newly installed Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi.
He asserted that Buhari’s failure to appoint the two key officials betrays his lack of adequate preparation to govern the country.
On the state’s governorship election scheduled to hold next year, Faboyede disclosed that no fewer than eight aspirants had indicated interest in the PDP ticket.
“The selection of our party’s candidate will be through due process; there won’t be imposition of candidate,” he assured.
The former Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperatives in Ondo congratulated the monarch on his ascension to the throne of Deji of Akure, assuring that the party would support him in his bid to develop the city.
Responding, Oba Aladelusi, who spoke through the Asamo of Akure, High Chief Rotimi Olusanya, praised the Ondo State Government for executing many developmental projects in the city.
He, however, called on the state government to fix many of the township roads that required attention.
