The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, seems to be getting worse by the day as top members of the party continue to point accusing fingers at one another. The latest being the war of words between the embattled National Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu and the controversial governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Peter Fayose.
It will be recalled that Fayose had accused Mu’azu of secretly working for the All Progressives Congress, APC, to ensure its victory in the 2015 general elections and calling for the dissolution of the entire National Working Committee, NWC, of the party.
But in a swift reaction, Mu’azu, in a series of tweets, challenged Governor Fayose to present the evidence he claimed to have about him working for the APC, adding that he hopes, it is not the same type of evidence the governor once claimed to have about Buhari’s health status.
“We challenge Governor Fayose to come out with the evidence that shows National Chairman worked for APC during the elections.
“Fayose: I have evidence that Mu’azu worked for APC. We hope it’s not the kind of evidence he once said he had that Buhari was dying”, Mu’azu tweeted via his tweeter handle, @muazuaa.
Fayose, not one to be outdone in any contest of this nature, fired back at the PDP chairman, calling him a disloyal party member, who could be quick to respond to a fellow party member but had been silent over the opposition party, APC.
In a series of tweets via his twitter handle, @GovAyoFayose, the governor said: “Disloyalty: A leader who takes to twitter to slight a party member but never did the same with or to the opponent”.
The governor, who predicted the resurgence of the PDP, equally sent out words of encouragement to party members, when he tweeted: “Defeat is never permanent. Victory is never ending. PDP will unite, mobilise and continue to stand with the people”.
