The Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Seriake Dickson and former Head of State, Gen Ibrahim Babangida met behind closed doors in Minna, the capital of Niger State on Wednesday.

Although Dickson refused to tell newsmen the outcome of his meeting, sources said it might not be unconnected with the ongoing crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

According to a source, the 60-minute meeting took place at the ex-Nigerian leader’s Hilltop mansion in Minna.

Specifically, Dickson was said to have met alone with Babangida in his private study, away from the prying eyes of aides of both politicians.

“The Governor, after an hour, came out of the meeting and did not disclose the purpose of the visit but instead got into his car and zoomed off”, the source said.

Recently, IBB predicted that the PDP will not only take back power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) but go ahead and rule for 60 successive years, if the schisms rocking the party were solved.

He said, “if you go to the grassroots, the ordinary man will talk about PDP; that is the asset the party has and should use to spring back to reckoning.”

“Already, it is accepted and known. All you have to do is work harder and try to convince the people back to your fold,” he said.
