The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the multiple bomb attacks that rocked Borno State at the weekend.
PDP gave the reaction via a statement published on the party’s official twitter handle.
PDP also condemned the ambush of the Nigerian Military on Sunday in Damboa, Borno State by Boko Haram.
It described the act as both “unfortunate and barbaric”.
PDPn however, commended the Special Operation Unit of the military tagged “Operation Lafia Dole” for their courage and commitment to the security of lives and properties in the North East.
The party noted that soldiers’ foiling of another attack on Sunday evening was heroic.
Continuing it said, “While we applaud the dexterity of our officers and men in the field, we wish to further advise the All Progressive Congress (APC) led Federal Government to stop the needless and diversionary propaganda on issues of insurgency in the Northeast and rather concentrate more in providing all the moral and technical support needed by the Military to end this campaign of terror”.
They added that the fight against insurgency is a collective effort and called upon Nigerians to support the government in the fight against the terrorists.
Meanwhile, no fewer than 240 members of Boko Haram sect have surrendered following sustained ground and air raid at their hideouts by the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).
