PDP chieftain accuses Amaechi of insincerity

As the crisis in Rivers state continues deepen, a PDP chieftain in the state, Chief Emma Ayanwu has pledged his support for the Rivers state PDP chairman, Felix Obuah for his refusal to follow Governor Amaechi’s zoning formula.

Chief Ayanwu said the zoning rotation as prescribed by Governor Amaechi was aimed at imposing a candidate of his choice on the people of Rivers state, come 2015.

In his words, “Its a rotation that he wants to use to exclude people and nobody has exclusive right in this state to bring out a candidate. Those who want to run for the governor of this state should present themselves to Rivers people. If the quality and character in you is that of a governor of the state, we will give you to govern”.

The PDP chieftain further said that Amaechi was deceiving himself to have thought that he had the support of the average Rivers man.

He also said he had sidelined the Etche community for too long which as a result had made him insincere in his course towards good governance.

“I am from the same senatorial zone with him. Has he asked himself the moral question why Etche has not presented a Senator in Rivers state?. Yet, he came out to tell Rivers state that he’s working on rotation. If he wants to apply rotation, he should start from his senatorial zone,” he said.
