The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, on Thursday urged Nigerians to troop out in large numbers on Saturday and cast their votes.

Secondus advised them not to bow to the All Progressives Congress, APC, which has “turned the country’s armed forces against her citizens to scare them away from exercising their civic responsibilities”.

He accused the military of bias and asked the armed forces to seek constitutional amendment and get fully involved in the governance rather than continuous violation of the statutory rules of the land.

His spokesman, Ike Abonyi, in a statement, said the apparent usurpation of the roles of both INEC and the Police by the military had raised the bar of the electoral criminality of this administration.

It reads further: “Prince Secondus bemoans the damage being done to the country’s military by their blatant and brazen involvement in partisan politics.

“It is scandalous and dangerous for the county’s military to continue to ignore the cries of the people on the illicit roles of the military in the South South region notwithstanding that the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court has a standing ruling barring the military from participating in any way during the election.”
