PDP chairman Bamanga Tukur, appoints new aides

Three weeks after he terminated the appointment of his former aides, including his eldest son, Awal, the National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Bamanga Tukur, on his return from Canada has appointed a new set of aides.

In a letter to the National Working Committee, NWC, signed by the National Director of Administration, Gurama Bawa, Mr. Tukur, appealed to the committee to give total support to the new aides.

The new appointees include a former senator and governorship aspirant of the party in Sokoto State, Abubakar Gada. He will serve as the Political Adviser to the national chairman.

Others are George Korgba from Benue state who is the new Principal Secretary while A. Y. Ahamad retains his posts as the Special Assistant, Special Duties.

Tukur had on April 26, fired his aides. Those affected were the Principal Secretary, Ibrahim Ida, a former senator; Political Adviser, Ahmed Gusau; Special Adviser on Electoral Matters, Saidu Kumo, a former senator; Special Adviser on Media, Ujudud Sheriff; and Special Adviser, Economic Matters, O. Akindele.

Others sacked were Special Adviser Inter Party Affairs, Shittu Mohammed; Special Adviser Security Matters and former Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro; Special Adviser, Mobilisation, Ishola Filani; Special Adviser, Monitoring Bennard Miko; Special Adviser Governance Osaro Onaiwo; Special Adviser General Duties Prince Igwe Uche; Special Adviser National Assembly Abdullahi Gumel; and Special Adviser, Special Duties and Protocol Officer Saidu Sulaiman.
