The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) has raised a five-man committee to resolve the crisis emanating from the emergence of Ndudi Elumelu as Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
BoT Chairman, Senator Walid Jibrin, who briefed the media at the party’s Headquarters in Abuja yesterday after its meeting, said members of the committee will submit their report within seven days.
“We have decided to wade into the matter in the House of Representatives, as regards the minority leadership. To that effect, a committee has been formed under the Chairmanship of Senator Iyorchia Ayu, with senators David Mark, Ibrahim Mantu, Adolphus Wabara as members and Austin Opara as Secretary.
“They have been given a week to submit their report to the BoT and NWC after which a decision would be taken,” he said.
He stressed that the BoT will always work in harmony with the National Working Committee (NWC), as well as co-operates and consults with the NWC to avoid taking conflicting positions.
On the Osun State governorship verdict at the Supreme Court, it passed vote of confidence on the judiciary and expressed hope that the decision of the court would deepen the country’s democracy, urging party members to remain law abiding and work with its leadership.
