ACN Rally in Ondo State
Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos State chapter has the political will to oust its rival; the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) from the state in the 2015 general elections.
The two time head of state noted that the dream of taking over Lagos from ACN is only achievable when the leadership of the party is ready to drop their ego and sacrifice their individual interest for the growth and development of the acclaimed largest party in Africa.
Obasanjo said this Wednesday when the PDP executives in Lagos state paid a courtesy visit on him at his Hilltop mansion in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.
The retired military General who described Lagos PDP as a party in wilderness added that leaders of the party needed to put all hands on deck in order to take over leadership of the state from ACN.
While expressing confidence that PDP would capture power from the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Lagos state, Obasanjo who once served as a BOT chairman of the party called on the need for the leaders and the members of the party to unite.
His words: “If only the leaders would s ink their ego and regard the party’s interest as supreme and above that of individual, then the party will come out strong and able to wrestle power from the ruling party.”
