Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the defection of its chairman, Mr Moshood Salvador to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as good riddance.
DAILY POST reports that Salvador had explained that he took the decision because all his efforts to re-position the PDP were frustrated by some elders of the party.
Salvador said he was leaving PDP because the party abandoned him while he was being detained in connection with the murder of Mr Adeniyi Aborishade.
However, reacting to his defection, the state Publicity Secretary of PDP, Mr Taofik Gani, in a statement on Tuesday, said the party was better without its former chairman.
Gani said, ”Salvador was being economical with the truth by claiming he left the party because of Chief Olabode George, a leader of the party.
”George was actually his benefactor as he facilitated his becoming the state chairman and stood by him during the factional feud in the state chapter.”
The state publicity secretary claimed that Salvador was not a team player, stressing that on account of this the party will never be demoralized by his exit.
