England were heading towards a famous victory over Brazil, after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wayne Rooney scored to put the Three Lions in front, before Paulinho’s measured finish salvaged a draw for the Selecao.
The first half was an unforgettable affair, as both sides failed to find the back of the net and the Brazilians especially failed to create clear cut chances, despite having more possession.
Twelve minutes into the second half, Hernanes crashed a shot against Joe Hart’s left-hand post and Fred was alert enough to tap in the rebound. Oxlade-Chamberlain, who came on to replace Glen Johnson slammed in a screamer to levl scores ten minutes later, before Rooney curled in a magnificent second.
However, it was Paulinho who had the last word, with a fine volley past Hart, who had an excellent game.
