Former France international, Patrice Evra has said that Juventus is the perfect club for Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo to join if he wants to continue winning trophies.
Ronaldo looks increasingly likely to leave Real Madrid this summer after a breakdown in his relationship with Los Blancos President, Florentino Perez, with Juve working on an £88million deal to bring him to Turin.
But Evra, who played for both Juventus and Manchester United, wants to see Ronaldo join the Italian giants.
Speaking during an Instagram live video, Evra said: “Everyone asks me, ‘Pat, what do you think?’ I haven’t spoken to Cristiano about this, but my advice is, if he wants to play to 2050, he has to go to Juve.
“I thank Juve, because if after Manchester I continued to win and to run, it was thanks to Juve.
“You should never spit on the plate that fed you, so Juve will always be in my heart.
“So Cristiano, I tell you this: make the right choice.”
“You know how much the Italians love you, but it’s a sacrifice. If you go to Juve, it’s to work and to work hard. This lot, ha, don’t know what a vacation is.
“But that’s the choice. Either you want to continue playing to 2050 or just carry on for a bit. I can tell you this. If you go to Juve, you’ll be at the next World Cup not as a mascot, but as a protagonist.”
Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes had also opened up on his client’s summer transfer move from Real Madrid to Juventus.
“If that happens it’ll be a new chapter and a new challenge in his brilliant career.
“If Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid, he’ll be eternally grateful to the club, the president, everyone who works there; the medical staff, every one of the players without any exceptions, the fans and all the Madridistas found across the world,” Mendes had told Portuguese outlet, Record.
