A senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ in Ondo, Pastor Adewale Giwa, on Saturday said nobody outside the State could determine Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s second term in office.
The clergyman said Akeredolu’s achievements was the only factor that would ensured he gets another tenure.
Reacting to reports that Akeredolu’s second term ambition would be determined by some national leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Giwa said no politicians apart from the Ondo State people could impose anybody on the state.
He said: “Let me remind them that they did it to the ex-governor Olusegun Mimiko in 2012, but they failed. They failed because the people of Ondo State were pleased with the achievements of Mimiko.
“Governor Akeredolu doesn’t need a prophet to tell him to go for a second term or nor. If he had rendered good services to the people of Ondo State, his achievements will speak for him when the time comes. He is the governor of Ondo State, not a governor in Osun, Ogun or Lagos State.
“Let me state it emphatically that politicians are just fighting for themselves, not the interest of the people. Akeredolu should sit back and ask himself whether he is for the people or for himself or for some certain politicians. If the governor is for the people, he will shun the antics of politicians and work for the people he governs.
“Right now, it is early for me to say that the governor has done well or not. The majority people of Ondo State will make their decisions on that. The governor is running a technocratic government.”
