Paris Club Fund: We are yet to receive any N34 billion – Wike

Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike has debunked the claims that the state received the highest amount of the Paris refund club bond of Thirty-Four billion Naira.

Governor Wike disclosed this during the first session of the eight Synod thanksgiving service at Saint Stephen’s Anglican Church, Rumueme Deanery.

He said the state and two other PDP states were short-paid.

The Governor challenged the federal government to prove that they paid the state Thirty-Four billion Naira.

“How I wish this N34b they are talking about will come tomorrow so they will what we will achieve with it.

“And I challenge the Federal government to show Nigerians the account where they paid the N34b into.

“Moreover, it is not as if they are dashing us money. It is our money. Our money they took to pay Paris Club,” Wike said.

The Federal Government on Friday released details of what each state got from the first tranche of Paris Club refunds, showing Rivers State as the biggest beneficiary.
