A woman, identified as Mrs. Ejiroghene Christiana Asah was Sunday morning robbed of her toyota car, along Akapa Street, off Okumagba layout in Warri, Delta State.
She was few minutes to the Avenue Baptist Church in Warri, for the Sunday Service, when the incident occurred.
DAILY POST gathered that the victim was trailed with a tricycle by the suspected car snatchers.
Members of the church, who spoke with our correspondent stated that the armed robbers shot sporadically into the air and bit Mrs. Asah in her left hand, while she was dragging the car key with them.
She was also robbed of her bag containing her mobile phones and unspecified amount of money.
A driver with the Avenue Baptist Church reportedly gave the armed robbers a hot chase with the church’s bus as they made away with Mrs. Asah’s toyota car.
As at the time our correspondent arrived the scene of incident, Mrs. Asah was frustrated and confused. She, however, managed to disclose her full names and car number as, KSF 87 DW.
The incident has caused serious tension amongst members of the Church as some of them are still outside while sunday school service is ongoing.
The Divisional Police Officer “B” Division in Warri,CSP Anieteh Eyoh could not be reached for comments on the matter, but a source within the police station who craved anonymity stated that a search team has been launched to track the armed robbers and recover the car.
