Ozubulu: Police invite assailants’ alleged target, ‘Bishop’

The Anambra State Police Command has invited Aloysius Ikegwuonu aka Bishop over the Ozubulu tragedy.

Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Anambra State, Nkiru Nwode, confirmed on Tuesday that Bishop, is expected to appear at the police headquarters in Awka on Friday.

The spokesman, however, clarified that the invitation is not an arrest.

Ikegwuonu was the target of attack on St Philip’s Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu, penultimate Sunday.

His father was among the 13 people who lost their lives during the attack that left 30 people wounded.

Ikegwuonu, who left the state before the attack on the church he built for his community, returned last Saturday.

He attended the first Mass at St Philip’s on Sunday which saw the reopening of the worship centre.

The service was attended by Secretary to the Anambra State Government, SSG, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu,
