Germany and Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil has described his teammate, Alex Iwobi, as a mixture of former PSG of France playmaker, Jay-Jay Okocha and ex-Netherlands international, Edgar Davids.
Ozil, while hailing the youngster, also urged him to keep up his performance to improve his game.
The Nigerian international has cemented his place in Arsene Wenger’s squad, following his impressive showings, most notably winning the man of the match award in the Gunners’ 3-0 victory against Chelsea last weekend.
Despite having not scored in six games in all competitions this season, Ozil believes the Super Eagles prodigy has a unique blend of talent.
Ozil told the club’s website, “He reminds me of his uncle, Jay-Jay Okocha.”
“He was a player I loved watching.
“Alex reminds me of a mixture of him and Edgar Davids. He’s really strong on the ball, also defensively, but he’s good in front of goal too.
“He’s developing really well and if he continues the way he’s been playing for the whole season, he will enhance his game.
“The manager knows exactly how good he is and I wish him all the best.”
