A group loyal to Ex-Governor, Lamidi Adesina within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo state under the auspices of Lamists has declared that there was no iota of truth in the rumour that loyalists of the former Governor have perfected plans to join another political party in preparation of the 2019 election in the state.
DAILY POST recalls that there were insinuations especially among politicians in the state that loyalists of the former governor who ruled the state between 1999 and 2003 under the platform of Alliance for Democracy (AD) would today pitch their tent in the camp of another political party today.
But, former Chairman, Caretaker Committee in Ibadan North West Local Government area, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun who spoke on behalf of the group declared that loyalists of the Ex-Governor were the landlord in the ruling APC in the state and there is no sense for the owner of the house to leave the house for his tenants.
Olatunbosun in a telephone conversation with DAILY POST Thursday morning while boasting that it was the Lamists that did most of the work that led to the success of the second term ambition of the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, declared that he was surprised that the governor has perfected plans to eject them from the party.
He, however, informed that instead of the Lamists to leave the party, it is the group loyal to the Governor called “Senaco” that will leave because “Lamists are the landlord, they came to us and there is not reason why the landlord should leave his house for the tenants. Have you seen a situation where the landlord will leave his house for the tenants?
Olatunbosun said, “Lamists are in the exco. We are not going. It is not possible. If possible they should have scaled through to dissolve the exco they would have ejected us by June, that means if Lamists are not in the exco. They cannot frustrate us. We are the owner of the house.
He challenged anyone who worked for the success of the second term ambition of the governor than him (Olatunbosun) saying that even his group, Senaco where no where to be found when he and other Lamists where working for the success of the return of the governor in 2015.
Olatunbosun said, “The Lamists are the one that spearheaded his second term bid. I want anyone in Oyo state to that he worked more than Wasiu Olatunbosun. Even his Senaco group did not do what Lamists did. And it is not possible. So the idea that we are moving out of the party can’t work. If he want to write the primary of APC, he cannot eject the exco.
” He and son of Alhaji Lam contested and we worked for him. We did not work for the son of the former Governor. And now he want to evict us. That is not possible.
“On our own part, we are saying that there is no need for us to leave the party. We are not leaving the party.”
