Oyo 2019: No gubernatorial candidate yet in ADC – Nureni Adeniran

One of the 13 gubernatorial candidates under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Oyo state, Dr. Nureni Adeniran has declared that contrary to insinuations, the party is yet to pick its authentic gubernatorial candidate ahead of the 2019 general elections.

DAILY POST recalls that the party had two weeks ago announced Dr Dele Ajadi as its tentative gubernatorial candidate pending the time the leaders and aspirants would agree on the person to pick as the real candidate of the party.

But one of the aspirants while reacting to a rumour that a certain aspirant has been picked by the national leadership of the party, however, declared that, “As we presently speak, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Oyo State, has not adopted any gubernatorial candidate for the 2019 elections.

Adeniran while speaking with journalists on Monday in Ibadan, the state capital said, “Presently, most members cannot understand who their candidates for state and national assemblies are, everything is shrouded in secrecy, and the people to do the work in various constituencies have no input at all.

“There are rules and guidelines laid down for choosing the candidates, the leaders of the party jettisoned this and imposed Senator Lanlehin on other aspirants, the decision which cannot stand.

Adeniran recalls that he and some politicians who are now members of the ADC left the PDP because of impunity.

He added that, “What we are having now is greater impunity.”

He disclosed that if the trend is not reversed, all other aspirants are poised for war in the law court.
