One of the gubernatorial aspirants and former Commissioner for Health in Oyo state, Dr. AbdulAzeez Adeduntan has withdrawn from today’s gubernatorial primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeduntan made this know via a statement issued by his Media Aide, Olaolu Bilau, a copy of which was obtained by DAILY POST on Sunday.

A former governor of the state, Alao Akala, DAILY POST recalls had yesterday threatened to boycott the primary due to alleged imposition of a certain candidate by the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

Adeduntan who said he is also withdrawing from the primary said, “One of the last seven governorship aspirants under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan will not be participating in the APC governorship primary holding on Sunday, September 30, 2018″.

A statement from his campaign office through his media aide did not give any reason for the decision of the APC guber hopeful.

The statement said, ” Dr Adeduntan will in due course provide further clarification on the matter”.
