Oyegun: Former Abia speaker, Stanley Ohazuruka backs NEC decision on tenure elongation

A former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Abia state, Stanley Ohazuruka, has backed the decision of the National Executive Committee of the APC which extended tenure of Chief John Odigie-oyegun-led National Working Committee of the party.

Speaking with DAILY POST on Saturday in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, Ohazuruka said the decision of NEC would ensure peace and stability in the party, stressing that APC was now poised to win 2019 election in all levels.

His words: ” I must sincerely commend the decision of the National Executive Committee of the APC for extending the tenure of National Working Committee of our great party. Is a good step in a right direction.

“Is a good step in a right direction. It goes to show that the position in APC. And the need to ensure continuity and smooth running of the party in Nigeria.

“It is a highly commendable decision. It will go along way in ensuring stability in the party.

Asked to comment on the endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari for second term by APC Governor’s Forum, the former member of the federal House of Representatives said, “Buhari has shown credibility, transparency in governance. He has equally shown absolute simplicity and openness in governance.

“You can see the federal infrastructures being executed by his government in the country, particularly in south east zone. So, he deserve a second term to enable him consolidate on his achievements”.

Recalled that APC National Executive Committee after its enlarged meeting on February 26, 2018 unanimously extended the tenure of the present National Working Committee, NWC, to one year.
