Barely 24 hours after the rescue of a 14-year-old Ese Oruru from the hand of a northern traditional ruler, relations of another Patience Paul, have alleged that the primary six student of Mohammed Zako Model Primary school, Sokoto may have been abducted and currently at the palace of the Sultan of Sokoto.
Paul, a native of Ochobo in Ohimini local government area of Benue, is said to have been missing since August 12, 2015.
The father, Paul who resides in Sokoto with his family, alleged that some persons sported his daughter at the palace while the family was searching for her.
He said, “we got information that she was in the Sultan’s palace and the last time we went there we did not find her there.”
On how they knew she was at the palace, he said, “some people told us that they saw her there, they also used to camp some of them there before, that is why we went there to see if she has been taken there. Even her friend who used to be a Christian was found there. She was taken there and they converted her.
“We will still continue to search for her, we will not give up, we only want the world to help us so that our daughter can be released to us,” he told Vanguard.
Another family member, Paul Isaac Adaji in a statement on Wednesday, said they reported the matter to the police but they were asked to go and maintain peace..
He said, “My younger sister, Patience was kidnapped by two of our neighbours (Monde & Suleiman) of the Hisbah group in Gidan Kukah, Runjin Sambo area Sokoto, with the intention of converting her to Islam.
“They confirmed to the police that they took the girl to the sultan’s palace, but the police later asked us to go and maintain peace. Commander of the Hisbah group is identified as Ilyasu Muhammed, his phone number is 08169317038,” he added.
However, when DAILY POST tried to reach the commander’s number, it was switched off.
