The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) in Osun on Friday ordered their members to embark on an indefinite strike as a way of agitating for payment of their full salaries and outstanding alliances.
The strike will take effect as from on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, immediately after the Christmas break.
The labour union had earlier given 21 days ultimatum to the government, demanding their full salaries.
The state chairman of the NLC, Comrade Jacob Adekomi declared the indefinite strike during a press conference in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
According to him, the modulated salary mode, in which some categories of workers get 75 per cent, and 50 per cent of their salaries was no more justifiable. Adekomi also frowned at what he called an embargo on promotion of workers since 2012.
