Osun PDP to APC- You are jittery over your imminent defeat in 2018

The Chairman of the newly constituted Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Chief Sarafa Ishola said the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC), by its body language is jittery over the perceived defeat of the party in the 2018 governorship election in the state.

Ishola, who was reacting to the recent statement credited to the APC, where the party described the reconciliation efforts of the PDP as efforts in futility maintained that the comment exposed the fear of ignominious defeat the ruling APC will suffer come 2018.

In a press statement issued in Osogbo to announce the inauguration of the Local Government chapters of the party caretaker committees in the state, Ishola opined that the cohesion of the party is not negotiable, going by the impressive performance of PDP in the recently conducted Osun West Senatorial District by-election.

He added that the victory of the party could not have been possible if not for, “the concerted efforts by leaders and stakeholders who all agreed to work together in the interest of the oppressed and suffering masses of the state”.

According to him, the statement of APC is “an outburst of a drowning sailor who would ordinarily want to hold on to every flimsy straw with the hope of survival. There is however no hope for the APC surviving this coming Electoral hurricane because the people of Osun state are ready to change this ineffectual government come 2018″

He described the stakeholders’ meeting of the party that took place last week as a huge success.

He, therefore, implored party members in the state to sustain the current moves of reconciliation as well as mobilisation of new members across the state, as he promised that ” the committee will continue to be fair, just and transparent in its handling of the affairs of the party in line with the mandate given to it by the National caretaker committee”.
