The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Osun chapter, has suspended its 3-day strike, following hours of meeting with state government on Saturday.
The meeting, which was said to have commenced on Friday, was led by the Chief of Staff to Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, while the Chairman of NLC in the state, Comrade Jacob Adekomi led the labour team.
The union announced the suspension of the strike Saturday evening after reaching an agreement on major demands of the workers, including full payment of workers’ salary, promotion, among others.
DAILY POST reports that NLC had on Friday, December 22, 2017 directed its members to embark on indefinite strike after the 21-day ultimatum it issued to government to address demands elapsed.
Our reporter also gathered that the Governor, in a meetings with labour leaders tongue-lashed them, a situation that made the unionists walk out on him.
The leaders announced the industrial action at a press conference subsequently.
