The Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal has been relocated from the premises of the High Court, Osogbo, the Osun State capital to the Federal High Court, Apo, Abuja, in the Federal Capital Territory.
This was contained in a press statement made available to press men on Saturday by the secretary of the tribunal, A.M. Aliyu.
According to the statement, ‘’ the general public should be informed that the sitting of the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has been relocated from High Court Justice Complex Osogbo to FCT High Court Apo, Abuja.
DAILY POST recalls that following a furore that recently greeted the reconstitution of the tribunal mainly by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the court of appeal has come up to say that the there was no plan to disband the tribunal for any reason.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the Court of Appeal, Hajia Sa’adatu Musa Kachalla said members of the tribunal were being rotated rather than being disbanded.
“What the President of the Court of Appeal has done was to re-organise members of the panel. It is a normal practice, as such was done in Imo state in October 2016 and also in Benue state in July 2015. She has the constitutional power to do so”, she said.
The Court of Appeal spokesperson, therefore, assured that the tribunal will soon commence sitting to hear the petition of Senator Ademola Adeleke and his party.
She added that everything done by the Justice Bulkachuwa was in good fate for the development of democracy.
