Osun election: Ex-SSG, Kazeem Adio emerges ADC candidate

Former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji Kazeem Adio has emerged the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the September 22 poll.

Chief Ananyo Arinze, the party’s National Public Relations Officer and the chairman of the ADC in Osun State, together with the delegates from all local governments in the state, affirmed Adio’s candidacy at exactly 2:32 p.m. through voice vote.

Arinze, while declaring Adio as the candidate said, “I want to sincerely appreciate our ADC Osun members for your doggedness and the way you have comported yourself in making this historic event a peaceful one, I am confident that with you, Osun shall be delivered from the government you have no stake in, I thank the representatives of the INEC who came out in good numbers.”

While accepting the mandate, Adio said he was prepared to serve the party and the people of Osun State.

He said, ‘’We are gathered here today because we have seen the need to change the status quo in our land. We have the backing of Almighty God, and we shall get to the Promised Land, a land where poverty is banished, a land that is characterised by progress, a land that is characterised by development, a land where salaries are paid as and when due and where pensioners can go back to their various homes and be happy to have something to fall back on, a land where we can grow what we eat and be proud of it, a land where we can embark on profitable ventures and be assured that we have reaped that which we have sowed.

“Osun State belongs to us and it is high time we took it back. ADC is the only reliable political vehicle that will take us there.

“So, I’m calling on all the good people of Osun and all that are in solidarity with us, to join hands with us to take back our land.”
