The Osun State Government has declared Monday, August 22, a public holiday in commemoration of the Annual Isese Day.
The Isese Day is said to be Traditional Worshipers’ Day.
It is the celebration of the peak of festivity in Yoruba land which is also known as, “Odun Nla’’.
The Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Governor’s Office Oshogbo, Mr Semiu Okanlawon, said in a statement, “The Osun Government wishes to announce Monday Aug. 22, a public holiday to celebrate the spirit of equality among the various religious groups in the state.
“The holiday is in recognition of the annual Isese Day, which allows the adherents of traditional religion to come together for the annual celebration.”
“The celebration of the Isese Day is a demonstration of the governor’s commitment for the promotion of peaceful co-existence and equal right for all religions.”
