Nigerians have reacted to the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declaring the just-concluded governorship election in Osun State inconclusive.

INEC said Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled about 254,698 ahead of Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who garnered 254,345 votes.

This decision followed cancellation of votes in Orolu Local Government, Ife South LG, Ife North LG and Osogbo LG resulting, to the loss of 3498

However, Nigerians on social media have expressed divergent opinions over the announcement.

Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST:

@El_crucifixion “What a country! INEC is no longer an independent body.

@Iamfemifactor “Inconclusive because it didnt dance to the tune INEC wanted to play… Nigeria and politics.”

@EletrickShark “INEC should not make the mistake of handing over Osun to APC the people have spoken they want APC out.”

@Samie_keny “APC and INEC are at it again. Elections inconclusive in what sense. They have given room for “Jagaban” and his allies to loot the rerun.”

@Philphiltin “So PDP wins Osun and INEC calls the result inconclusive… Our democracy is under sabotage.”
