There are indications that Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, may have submitted the final report of the panel he headed, to investigate the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke, President Muhammadu Buhari before he left the country on Sunday night.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, dropped the hint Monday morning, while answering questions on the Sunrise Daily programme of Channels Television.
Adesina said that the submission of the report might have “come up” when Buhari and Osinbajo met before he left the country.
“The vice president met with the president yesterday before he travelled. It is not unlikely that that (the submission of the report) may have come up,” Adesina said.
The Presidency last week assured that Buhari would receive the report on Monday.
Babachir was investigated for alleged violations of law and due process in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North-East (PINE), while Oke was quizzed over the $43.4m recovered from an apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos.
