Osinbajo holds closed-door meeting with Tinubu, Saraki, other APC leaders

Several efforts by the State House Correspondents to speak with many chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who had a closed door meeting with Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential Villa on Wednesday afternoon were futile a the politicians refused to speak.

There were reports that that they were meeting to reach a consensus for the presidency to soft pedal on the trial of the Senate President, Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT over alleged false declaration of assets.

Speaking to newsmen, the Special Adviser (Political) in the Vice President Office, senator Femi Ojudu said that a statement would be issued by the office of the vice president on the meeting which he referred to as “consultative meeting” of the party leaders.

Spokesperson of the vice president, Laolu Akande in a statement at the end of the meeting said it was “very useful and resourceful”.

Adding that, “Select leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, drawn from the party’s National Headquarters, the legislative and executive arms of government had a consultative meeting on issues affecting the party and the nation.

“The meeting, which held at the Vice President’s conference room, was very useful and resourceful towards achieving the goals of the party and the government”, the statement said.
