Contrary to reports, Victor Osimhen has not signed for German club, Wolfsburg.

The striker shot into prominence at the just concluded FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, where he scored 10 goals and led Nigeria to glory. Since then, Europe’s top clubs have been on his trail.

According to one of Osimhen’s representatives, Ariyo Igbayilola, they have had a look at Wolfsburg’s facilities, but the player has not put pen to paper.

“It’s fake news that Victor has signed for Wolfsburg. Nothing like that has been done. We are in Germany to only look at the club’s facilities and he is not signing anything yet,” Ariyo told AfricanFootball.com

“We are open to visit a million clubs to be sure of where the boy will play next.

“This player is a national asset and so everybody – the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and his family – must agree before he signs for any club.

“I have been long in this business to know that we cannot rush this and I have given my word to those who need to vet wherever this player will end up.”

Osimhen himself added: “I have not signed for Wolfsburg, I am only here to see their facilities, which I have found to be good, but it is my representatives who will decide on any other thing.”
