Team doctor of Nigeria’s U-20 team, Ozi Salami, has denied reports claiming that Victor Osimhen is injured and out of the CAF U-20 qualifier against Burundi on May 21.
The Wolfsburg-bound striker, injured his left shoulder after a collision with defender Segun Oduduwa, during Thursday’s test match with the U-23 national team.
He was immediately taken off by coach Emmanuel Amnueke, but Salami insists Osimhen is fine.
“He fell awkwardly after the collision with the Under-23 defender but it is nothing serious as you can see,” Salami told media.
Osimhen has been training alone, as coaches and the medical team continue to assess his fitness ahead of next weekend’s clash in Bujumbura.
