Oshoala, Rohr, Super Eagles make final shortlist for 2017 CAF Awards

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the final shortlists for the 2017 awards.

Nigeria is well represented across the categories, with reigning CAF African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala again in line to retain her crown.

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, is also among the three coaches making the finalists.

Rohr took over from Sunday Oliseh and the Eagles have improved remarkably since then. He faces stiff competition from Wydad Casablanca boss, Hussein Amoutta and Egypt head coach, Hector Cuper, who ended the Pharaohs’ 28-year wait for World Cup qualification.

The Super Eagles are nominated for the National Team of the Year award alongside Egypt and Cameroon.

Oshoala is up against Cameroon’s Gabrielle Onguene and Chrestina Kgatlana of South Africa as she makes to clinch her third Women’s Player of the Year award.
