The Edo State Head of Service, Jerry Obazele, has been directed by Governor Adam Oshiomhole to immediately proceed on retirement.
Disclosing this on Tuesday in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Peter Okhiria, the Governor appointed Mrs. Gladys Idahor to immediately take over as the state Head of Service.
Oshiomhole also approved the retirement of the Permanent Secretary in the state Information and Communication Technology Agency, Dan Aigbavboa, even as he suspended the Director, Software, of the agency, Toju Onaiwu.
While directing members of the State Pensions Board to report to the State Civil Service Commission for proper investigation and disciplinary action in accordance with the Civil Service Rules, he did not however give reasons for the retirement and suspension of the officials.
“Members of the Pensions Board are advised to steer clear of their offices until investigations are concluded,” the statement warned.
