President Donald Trump on Monday said controversy at Oscars 2017 was due to organizers’ concentration on him and politics rather than on the show.
Trump was the target of light-hearted jokes throughout the night as Oscar-winners talked freely against his immigration policies.
In an Oval Office interview with Breitbart News, Trump said Oscars didn’t feel like a glamourous evening because organizers had taken their eyes off the ball and “were focused so hard on politics.”
“It was a little sad. It took away from the glamour of the Oscars.
“It didn’t feel like a very glamorous evening. I’ve been to the Oscars.
“There was something very special missing, and then to end that way was sad.”
Recall that Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty mistakenly presented the best picture award to “La La Land,” when “Moonlight,” was the real winner.
The epic mix-up has been described as one of the most embarrassing moments in Oscars history.
