The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has advised the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop shedding what it termed crocodile’s tears over the recent security breach in Orin Ekiti.
The APC, in a statement by its Director of Publicity, Mr. Sam Oluwalana, stated that the antics by the opposition party to incite the people of the state against the present administration would fail.
“We are aware that during the four years of PDP reign in the state, fund meant to assist security agencies was diverted to private pockets, thus, resulting to break down of law and order.”
He pointed out that there were tales that cows seized by the agents of the state during the reign of impunity of the PDP were shared by the loyalists of Governor Ayo Fayose, who turned the government house to abattoir.
Oluwalana, who is also SSA Party Affairs to Governor Kayode Fayemi, explained that with the visit of the Governor and security chiefs to Orin Ekiti few days ago, during which the Commissioner of Police was directed to reopen the police post in the town, the opposition should no longer cry more than the bereaved.
“By now, the people of the state know who is truly serving them and one that will only make promises and will not be seen or be taken serious,” he added.
Oluwalana advised the opposition members in the state to wake up and be alert to witness and experience true governance as being provided by Governor Fayemi.
According to him, opposition members should not capitalize on their idleness to attempt to derail the present administration in its quest to resolve security challenges and hunger inflicted on them during their four years of misrule.
