Major opposition parties in Oyo state on Saturday adopted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde ahead of the March 9th election in the State.
The leaders of the opposition parties including Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) adopted Makinde at their meeting held in Ibadan the state capital.
At the meeting which held at the Ondo Street, Bodija Ibadan residence of a former Governor of the state, Senator Rasidi Ladoja, Ladoja himself, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (ADC), Seyi Makinde (PDP), Sharafadeen Alli (ZLP) and Bolaji Ayorinde (SDP) were in attendance.
They argued that they were endorsing Makinde in view of their resolve to unseat the ruling APC.
DAILY POST recalls that candidate of the ADP, Chief Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala had on Friday agreed to form an alliance with APC and its candidate, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu.
With the endorsement of Makinde by the leading opposition parties, the race to Agodi government house is now between the PDP, APC and other opposition parties that are not interested in forming alliance with either the APC or PDP.
