The meeting of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, called by Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau, was on Monday shunned by some governors of the People’s Democratic Party and all their colleagues in the opposition.

The parley was to discuss crucial national issues including revenue sharing between the federal and state governments.

Governors under the platform of the ruling party who did not attend include; Abubakar Aliyu of Niger, Murtala Nyako of Adamawa, Seidu Dakingari of Kebbi, Sule Lamido of Jigawa and Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto.

Also, all the 11 governors who constitute the All Progressives Congress bloc, stayed away.

But the meeting was attended by 16 governors loyal to Jang.

DailyPost gathered that the governors were scheduled to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan last night.

The controversial May 24 chairmanship election of the NGF, has further split the body, with the Jang-led faction opening a parallel office.
